The Hypercom® ICE™ 5700 combines check reading and processing into one easy-to-use, space-saving POS appliance. This new addition to the ICE family magnetically reads the MICR line at the bottom of checks which increases the speed and accuracy of processing transactions.The ICE 5700 supports dial-up to multiple check processors to perform check verification against negative files or check guarantee by obtaining positive online authorizations. Check truncation can also be supported as an option, converting an expensive paper-based process into a cost-saving electronic transaction. Exact check processing capabilities will be dependent on the specific software application being run by the ICE 5700 terminal.The ICE 5700 has a very high success rate of reading checks, even if they are damaged.
